Home Sleep Apnoea Test
Check for sleep apnoea in your own bed, with a small ring worn on your finger while you sleep. At our Sengkang and Seletar clinics, by appointment.

Loud snoring. Someone telling you that you stopped breathing for a moment. Waking up tired however long you slept, or nodding off whenever you sit still.
These can be signs of obstructive sleep apnoea, where the airway keeps closing during sleep. It is common, and most people who have it have never been tested. This test is a simple first step towards finding out.
- 1. BookCall the Sengkang or Seletar clinic to reserve a test. It is by appointment only.
- 2. SleepCollect the ring and wear it on your finger at home, for one night or three, as advised.
- 3. ReturnBring the ring back to the clinic. After a one-night test, that is the next day.
Is this for you?
It is for people who have signs of sleep apnoea, such as:
- Loud, regular snoring
- Someone has seen you stop breathing, choke or gasp in your sleep
- Waking up unrefreshed, or with a headache
- Feeling sleepy in the day, or dozing off when sitting still
- High blood pressure, especially if it is hard to control
If you are not sure whether the test suits you, the clinic can advise when you call.
What the ring measures, and its limits
The ring records your oxygen level, pulse and movement through the night. From these it estimates how often your breathing is disturbed while you sleep.
Please know
Ring devices like this are designed to detect moderate to severe sleep apnoea, and may miss milder cases. They do not measure breathing directly the way a full sleep laboratory study does. Depending on your results and symptoms, a full study in a hospital sleep laboratory may still be needed.
A home test is not suitable for everyone. People with significant heart or lung disease, a previous stroke, long-term opioid painkillers or severe insomnia usually need a laboratory study instead. Please mention any of these when you call.
Common questions
Do I need to stay at the clinic overnight?
No. You sleep at home, in your own bed, and bring the ring back afterwards.
Should I do one night or three?
Sleep varies from night to night, so more nights give a fuller picture. Ask the clinic about the options when you book.
Can I book on the spot?
No. The test is by reservation only, so please call the clinic first to book a slot.
What is sleep apnoea, and why does it matter?
Our patient information on sleep apnoea explains what it is, how it is diagnosed, and why it is worth checking.
Can I be tested at another branch?
The test is available at Sengkang and Seletar only.

General information about a clinical service, not medical advice. A home sleep test is one step in assessing sleep apnoea and does not replace a consultation with a doctor.
